Amnous

The Disciple-Leader is my personal project to study and write about the intersection of:

  • Discipleship

  • Leadership

  • Mental Performance

Amnous derives from two Greek words.

  1. Amnos: Lamb1

    1. This word reminds us of Jesus Christ, the sacrificial Lamb of God. It reminds us that ultimately, He is the source of power, love, and strength for a disciple-leader.2

    2. The word also reminds us of Christ’s leadership style. He is the Good Shepherd. Selfless devotion, deep empathy. It’s the ultimate title for the One who modeled servant leadership.

  2. Nous: Mind3

    1. In the Greco-Roman world, the concept of “nous” was significant in philosophical discussions, particularly in the works of Plato and Aristotle, where it was associated with the highest form of knowledge and rational thought. In the Jewish context, the mind was seen as integral to one’s spiritual and moral life, aligning with the Hebrew understanding of the heart as the center of thought and will.

The Disciple-Leader

The call to be a disciple-leader is a call to lead as Christ leads.
